Recorded pressure measurements provide valuable historical information for operational analysis and maintenance planning.
Project Impact
The Pipeline Pressure Monitoring project in Tashkent, Uzbekistan demonstrates how LoRaWAN technology can be used to connect conventional industrial pressure transmitters to a modern remote monitoring system.
By integrating 4–20 mA pressure transmitters with LoRaWAN connectivity, pipeline pressure data can be collected from field locations and transmitted wirelessly to a centralized monitoring platform.
The solution provides improved visibility into pipeline operating conditions while reducing dependence on manual data collection and extensive communication infrastructure.
From Conventional Sensors to Smart Pipeline Monitoring
One of the key advantages of this architecture is that existing industrial sensors do not necessarily need to be replaced.
Pressure transmitters that already provide a 4–20 mA output can be connected to a LoRaWAN node, allowing the existing measurement infrastructure to become part of a connected IoT system.
This makes the solution suitable for sensor retrofitting and digital transformation of existing pipeline infrastructure.
Future Expansion
The same LoRaWAN infrastructure can be expanded to monitor additional parameters across water and pipeline networks.
Potential applications include:
Flow monitoring • Water level monitoring • Pump status monitoring • Valve status monitoring • Temperature monitoring • Leakage monitoring • Water quality monitoring • Remote equipment monitoring This creates a foundation for a broader Smart Water Monitoring and Pipeline Management System. Conclusion The Pipeline Pressure Monitoring Using LoRaWAN project in Salar MFI, Mirabad District, Tashkent, Uzbekistan demonstrates the application of wireless IoT technology for remote monitoring of pipeline infrastructure. By connecting 4–20 mA pressure transmitters to a LoRaWAN node, pressure measurements can be collected from distributed field locations and transmitted wirelessly to a centralized monitoring platform. The solution enables remote pipeline pressure monitoring, centralized data visibility, pressure trend analysis, and scalable smart water infrastructure, providing a practical pathway from conventional instrumentation to connected industrial IoT monitoring.
